Our heat resistant Pitot covers are lined with fireproof Nomex to prevent burn stains on the Pitot tube if the Pitot heat is activated while on the ground during maintenance procedures.  The Nomex will NOT prevent the Pitot cover from being damaged by the heat, which can be as high as 500 degrees F. They are designed to cover the entire pitot assembly, slipping over the tube and tightening around the base with a Velcro strap detail. A "Remove Before Flight" streamer is attached to the cover. Our heat resistant Pitot covers are lined with fireproof Nomex to prevent burn stains on the Pitot tube if the Pitot heat is activated while on the ground during maintenance procedures.  The Nomex will NOT prevent the Pitot cover from being damaged by the heat, which can be as high as 500 degrees F.
